This fall, civic engagement gets a cultural remix. The People’s Party, a groundbreaking festival at the intersection of the arts and civic storytelling, will debut November 1–2, 2025, at the NAACP Hollywood Bureau in Los Angeles.
The nonpartisan, two-day event will open with a welcome address from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, followed by a dynamic lineup of film screenings, interactive workshops, live performances, and games. At its heart is The People’s Village—a vibrant gathering of civic leaders, artists, comedians, poets, and mission-driven community and media organizations.
Presented by Civics Is Sexy and the NAACP, The People’s Party reimagines civic education as an electrifying cultural experience—designed to cut through disinformation and invite a new generation, along with communities too often left out of traditional civic education, into civic life.
